Ato Siraj Ahmed
Siraj Ahmed Ali is a senior anesthetist, lecturer at Dilla University. He currently serves as the President of the Ethiopian Association of Anesthetists (EAA). With over a decade of clinical and academic experiences, Siraj Ahmed has led various national initiatives to improve perioperative care, workforce development, and patient safety.
He earned his Bachelor degree in Anesthesia from Jimma University in 2012 and his master degree in Advanced clinical anesthesia from Dilla University in 2019. Continuing his educational career, he joined his PhD study in anesthesia at University of Gondar in June 2024. Work experience started was as Junior anesthesiology Professional in 2012 at Gidole District hospital and in Kulito primary hospital for a total of 2 years. He joined Dilla University as Graduate assistant of Anesthesiology in September 2014 and working there until now with academic rank of Lecturer.
At Dilla University he played various roles of academic, research, clinician and also leadership positions. He served as Anesthesia clinical service coordinator, Department head, and College vice president office head. remarkable research experience with more than 16 publications on international journals as corresponding author and co-author with his colleagues. The main research interest is on perioperative medicine, access and anesthesia service quality improvement.
In addition to national contribution as professional voluntarism, he is a member of The Operating Room Global (TORG), a council member special Events Coordinator, TORG-Ethiopia Chapter, and TORG-IRB member.
